Circle T's superstar, Asteroid |
It was an interesting event, some things I liked, somethings I didn't! Because of the large scale stadium, there were 12 bucking chutes across the dirt, and it looked like the bulls were penned directly behind the chutes, in the arena. Some bulls seemed to get lost on the large bucking area, and they wandered in their bucking instead of getting in to a spin. I also thought it was interesting to watch the bull fighters, as they had much more ground to cover!
It seemed for a while, all the bulls I liked were scored 41.25 pts: Gypsy Boots, Mood Swing, Monsoon and Juicy Fruit were all stuck with that score. Come Back was wild! and only earned a 40.5 pts because he traveled straight out in to the arena. South Point had a good out and easily got rid of his rider and was awarded 42.75 pts. Deja Blue Emu rocked with a 43.5pt score and Bad Moon came out as a reride bull with a solid score of 43.5pts also.
The Championship round bulls were awesome, only allowing 7 rides out of 18 attempts. My bull-crush King Lopez was left for the last cowboy and had no problem bucking him off! (In my humble opinion King Lopez's score of 44 pts was too low!) Rango (45) and Asteroid (46.5) were the only two bulls scored 45 points or higher. (Too few, in my opinion). Sometimes I ask myself, what else do these bulls have to do to get a higher score? I just don't understand the judges! Nine bulls were scored 44-44.5 pts and the remaining seven bulls were in the 43-43.75 point range.
My only real complaint is that this one night event is just not long enough! But then again, a bull lover like me, never really gets enough bull time anyway!
