fa-BULL-ous Bull Bits from OKC

Chad Berger's BIG STINK bucking in Las Vegas Oct. 2011
Friday Night in OKC was the ABBI Classics event for 3-4 year old bulls.  It's always a fun round because these bulls are young and unpredictable.  There were only 11 scored rides last night, a testament to how difficult these young bulls can be!

The top 3 bulls of the night were Shepherd Hills Tested (45.25 pts), Gonzo (44.50 pts) and Big Stink (44.25 pts).  How can you not love a bull named Big Stink?  All 3 of these young bulls had outstanding outs, but Gonzo (in my humble opinion) was the most impressive.  He threw his cowboy to the ground so fast and with such force, that I could almost feel the impact through the computer!  Wow!

Other youngsters that had good outs were: Pancho, huge jump out of the chute and rank 42.75pts; Party All The Time 43.25 pts; Razor Blade, who had a huge 1st jump 42 pts; Hot Box 43 pts did a nice job dismissing his rider; Carney Man had a great out and I thought his 42.75 pt score was a bit low; and Super Cool Cat 43.25 pts had big jumps and was rather fiesty in the arena.  Smashmouth gets a mention for his wild style and BIG jumps.

I believe the future is bright for these young bulls, as they learn the routine of bucking on the big stage with the World's best Cowboys.  Should be fun watching in the future!

  1. I thought the bulls were great also! I love to watch the Classics! At points last night I found myself watching the bull more so than the rider! When you know how important it is for each of the bulls to perform and have a good out, I find myself feeling bad for the breeders/contractors when a bull that you know is good, hips himself or has a stumble. I loved the event last night and look forward too seeing who our Classic champion will be this year!
