5 Quick Questions

I love to learn about the bulls...any and all details.  The stats are fine but you really don't get to know the animals just by stats.  Over the past week I contacted some stock contractors and asked 5 simple questions: 1) Who eats the most?  2) Who is the most "people-friendly"?  3) Who is the fussiest on the road?  4) Who is the meanest? and 5) Who is the most lackadaisical?  And this is what I learned...

A705 BACKBENDER wins the prize for the bull who eats the most.

JD Reasoner of  Wolf Creek Cattle Company in Mangum, OK adds that A705 Backbender is also the most people friendly.  The fussiest of their bunch is 70Y Blue Emu Blackout; the meanest is a bull they just got from JB Mauney, 770 Billy Jack Kenny.  Wolf Creek will be bucking him for the first time in Fredricksburg, Texas; and 132B Whiskey Cures Ugly is the laziest.  Wolf Creek Cattle also boasts the likes of Bad Blake, Dark Shadow, Skatman Hou, Russian Roulette and Whoopah Cocktail...a great bull pen!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------
TROUBADOUR of Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls is the most people-friendly.
Kindra Pierce emailed me some wonderful insight in to the herd out at Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls in Oakdale, California.

"Who eats the most?
--Every bull we keep on the road with us is fed a balanced, measured diet daily. If given the opportunity, I believe Class 6 Kat and Charlie Bullware would be the "oinkers" of the bunch!

Who is the most “people-friendly”?
-- Troubadour, without a doubt. You can scratch and rub ALL over him and he'll stand there all day for you to do so... He even leaves his cows for a daily Troubadour scratch session. Water Canal is a close second, though. He's recently learned he likes to be rubbed and scratched all over, but usually just in the back pens or at home. He's still a bit anced up at the rodeos.

Who is the fussiest on the road?
-- Some of the half brothers to Bushwacker (born his same calf crop) are usually the "fussiest" They're pretty hot compared to Bushwacker and are usually the "problem children" on the road! In comparison to Bushwacker, you wouldn't even know they're related! Merlot Man is also one you usually always have to keep your eye on. He'll usually go by you, but if you're in his way, he won't hesitate to run you over!

Who is the meanest?
-- Sue... always Sue!

 Who is the most lackadaisical?
-- To all the bulls hauled all year, everything has become quite routine for them. They know when the trailer backs up it's time to load, they know when we're on the road they'll  bed down and lay down on the trailer,  they certainly know when you get to the housing pens each and every time you back your trailer up to unload. They're very smart animals and I would have to say since it's all so routine to them, they're all pretty laid back. "

REINDEER DIPPIN' wins the award for fussiest...surprised?  From what I've heard, he didn't like going to Vegas.  Reindeer didn't eat well there and had to have special water trucked in!
Cindy Rosser of Flying U Rodeo in Marysville, CA shared that Bring It eats the most and is most lackadaisical.  Big Mike is the most people friendly, and Ransom is the meanest.  Cindy and Flying U also have Curve Ball, Little Brother, Pretty Boy Blue and Mikel's Cat to name a few of their outstanding bulls.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Mean MEGATON!

Buckey is in the running for Bucking Bull of the Year.  I think it's ok for him to be fussy!

Craig Wentz owner of Wentz Bucking Bulls in Prosser, WA told me that Buckoff "eats the most and the fastest because he thinks someone else might get a bite!"  No Refund is the friendliest of the herd.  W1 Buckey is the fussiest and Buckmaster is the most lackadaisical.  Fussy Buckey, who is the herd sire, has sons Buckoff, Buck Naked,  Buckmaster and Buckshot.  Jello and New Face are also in the Wentz herd.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

K-C Bucking Bulls WHERE'S THE WHISKEY is the most lackadaisical of the bunch!
Cristy McElroy of K-C Bucking Bulls in Mount Orab, OH said that Cool Spot eats the most, "and you don't dare take his food away!"  Colored by Artic is the friendliest "but Who Dat is quickly becoming the most people-friendly."  Alternator is the fussiest on the road.  And, Hell's Bells is the meanest.  Hell's Bells is the half brother to King Lopez...who could also use a little work on his people skills!  ;)

Hell's Bells was fiesty in Uncasville.  Every time owner Kenny McElroy turned his back, Hell's Bells would charge him.  Here, Kenny is telling him to STOP IT!!

I had so much fun collecting these inside tid-bits!  Bucking bulls are wonderful, smart, funny and entertaining animals.  A HUGE thank you goes out to JD Reasoner, Cindy Rosser, Cristy McElroy, Craig Wentz, and Kindra Pierce & Julio Moreno.  I truly appreciate the time they took to share about their bulls, so we fans can learn more about their amazing bovines!
