Yesterday was a stunningly beautiful day here in CT. Abundant blue sky and sunshine, trees turned orange and yellow and red, temperature in the mid-60's...perfect! So what else is a girl to do on a beautiful day, you may ask? Go see my bulls, is my answer! I was warmly greeted by Junior (l) and The Spook. I suspect Junior could already smell the treat I was holding behind my back! For some reason Junior loves white bread. My big thrill was having The Spook take bread from my hand and getting licks in return. |
|
It was time to feed the gang, so JW had to get them out of the arena. He put them in the back pens while we filled the tubs. Once we scattered the tubs around, we let the bulls back in. JW had me stay in the arena while they were eating. JW & I walked around them so they could continue to get use to people. |
|
The Spook (l) and BuckSnot sharing a tub of grain. Everyone seemed to get along smoothly and and no fights broke out over lunch! |
|
This picture just makes me laugh! I think all 3 of them were determined to get the same piece of grain. The jostled around until the tub was empty, then moved on to the next one. At this point, I was alone in the arena with the bulls. It was a bit unnerving, to say the least! I kept my distance and they did not seem to mind me there. |
|
After lunch, the Vet arrived and checked the boys out. Here The Spook is standing quiet. I was able to climb the fence and pet his back while he waited. He seemed antsy at first but quieted quickly. I was truly amazed at how fast this Vet was able to give the boys their shots. I wish my doctor could be that fast! But I guess with a large animal, a split second is all you have before they try to hurt you! |
|
Vlad sticking his tongue out at me! Silly boy! He's still a bit standoffish but he is definitely making progress. He seems to stick close to his buddy, The Spook. |
|
For some reason The Spook felt the need to stand at the chute gate for quite some time! He was so funny. I kept calling to him and finally he came around. |
|
BuckSnot is such a handsome boy! He and Snot Zombie seem to be getting more comfortable with their new buddies, and in their new home. |
|
With a full tub of fresh, clean water Snot Zombie (l) and Vlad grab a drink. I completely enjoyed my time with the bulls yesterday. I think my blood-pressure was at an all time low! The bulls were quiet and just being content on a gorgeous afternoon. I am so blessed to be co-owner of these bulls. It has brought much joy in to my life already. And, they are such handsome bulls......I just had to brag on them a little bit! ;) |

Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWhat handsome boys you have there! I love the pictures and I can't wait to see part 2!
If you have a chance to respond, I have a question for you. We'd like to go on the bull housing tour in Vegas and my husband called the PBR fan club line to ask what we needed to do. He was given vague information (no sign-up necessary and the time and meeting location announced midnight before the tour but not how/where it would be announced). I understand that they would feel very protective of the bulls and I'm glad they do. Should we call PBR again? We aren't arriving in Vegas until late the night before the tour.If you have a chance to respond, thank you in advance.
Syd
Hi Syd!
DeleteI would imagine that they will post on their website, the time and place, but I'm not 100% sure. I agree, it's good to be protective but very hard for folks to plan! Especially since we fans arrive at all different times! Maybe call and ask how they will announce it. I'm really sorry I can't be of more help!
Thanks for checking in on the blog! I hope to meet you in Vegas!
Susan
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWe didn't make it to Vegas and it's so disappointing. I'm going to school and too many assignments piled up at the last minute. I hope you all had lots of fun - please post pictures when you have a chance!
