September Sentiments

There are days...you know, those perfect early fall days...when the air is cool but the sun is still warm...the sky is clear and blue...trees are in varying stages of changing colors...a slight breeze cools you off...it's quiet and peaceful...yes, one of those days!  Yesterday was one such day for me.  I hopped in my car and drove west to Let R Buck Bull Riding School, and the home of my bulls...just for a visit.  It's times like this when I love to be around the bulls.  They are quiet, relaxed, interacting with each other or just asleep in a group.  They were all in the arena, laying down when I arrived... some of them managed to raise their heads when I drove in...others opened an eye to see who was making noise...and then one of them realized momma was here with treats!
Snot Zombie, Paparazzi, Junior and The Spook lined up with mouths open!  I could not get the bread out of the bag fast enough!  It was actually quite comical.  I'd wished someone was there to take a picture of the 4 heads with noses sticking thru one panel!  The snot was flying and more than one tongue was wrapped around my wrist! LOL!
Then, there is the staring contest with Spook...me, in my chair with legs up on the rail vs Spook.  He always wins because I can only sit for so long without jumping up and trying to kiss his nose!

BuckSnot was a little grumpy, it seemed, when I arrived.  Eventually he warmed up and strolled over to hook me!

Snot Jammer was having quite a time getting to an itch!  His tongue was flying all over the place and then he'd seem to just make a funny sound of frustration and this face!

Always a sucker for a good "snot shot",  I could not resist Paparazzi and that nose!!  He is such a good young bull, and enjoys the human interaction.  He got a nice, long back rub yesterday!
The Spook and Vlad the Impaler participated in some fun and games after lunch.  These two seem to spar a lot.

Snot Jammer (center) must have been extra salty!  With Vlad on the left and Paparazzi on the right, Jammer seemed to enjoy the attention.

BuckSnot (l) and Snot Zombie.  It was just one year ago that these two came in to my life, and it's never been the same!  Their horns had just been tipped, and it was raining, so they looked like two pathetic little bulls.  BuckSnot would not come near me while Snot Zombie was fussing and following me everywhere.  A year later, they have grown and added some good weight.  My partners and I are very proud of Zombie as he has a 53-0 buck off streak going and is unridden!

Silly, silly Paparazzi!  Oh, these bulls make such funny faces sometimes!

Look at the intensity in those eyes!  BuckSnot and Vlad participated in some pushing and shoving...all the while Junior is trying to nap!

Vlad settled in right next to Snot Jammer.  After a nap, Vlad was stretching and shaking his head around.

Snot Zombie and Paparazzi carried on for quite some time.  Even though Paparazzi is the youngest and smallest, he still likes to start trouble!

Snot Zombie with a face only a mother could love???

As the late afternoon sun warmed horns and hides, all the bulls settled down for a nap.  Paparazzi is just too cute, curled up in front of the Let R Buck sign.
So the day ended much like it began...the bulls were laying down in the arena...I took one deep breath of the beautiful fresh air and got back in my car.  I swear, each time I leave them, another piece of my heart stays with them.  As I drove off, Snot Jammer managed to lift his head to see what all the noise was about.  I wished him sweet dreams and off to sleep he went....

Thank you for letting me share some of my special day, spent with my bulls!  And, thanks to JW and Cindi who let me hang out in their backyard, on any given day, to be with the bulls!
