September Snot

Truth be told....I haven't been paying much attention to the PBR lately.  I've kept in touch with the website, and results, but having the time to watch it on TV hasn't been an option.  It's like that sometimes.  I did see a video clip from Thackerville, last weekend, where JB Mauney rode LONG JOHN for 92.25 points, bull score 45.25 points.  That was exciting!  D&H Cattle Co./Buck Cattle Co's STONE SOBER won High Marked Bull of the Event with a 45.25 point score.  And, D&H Cattle Co./Buck Cattle Co's BRUISER won the ABBI Classic competition with a 45 point score.  BIG weekend for D&H Cattle Company!!  Congratulations to them, and their outstanding pen of bulls!

Over Labor Day weekend, my husband and I took a road trip to southern Virginia, to visit the bulls we co-own with JW & Cindi at Let R Buck Bull Riding School.  Let R Buck relocated to Virginia this past June.  They have a beautiful new ranch, lots of pasture land for bulls to graze and new arena set-up for the bull riding school.  The bulls look great and seem happy....well, as happy as a bull can seem.  They are loving the new warmer weather and the red Virginia dirt.

I miss them terribly, as they are now 11 hours from me.  But they are doing great, and that is what is most important.  The "Bull Snot Buggy" and I will be making the occasional road trip to visit, because I just love the guys too much!  So here are some photos from the weekend, school photos and Snot Jammer's walk about.

First time student, Don, makes an attempt to ride VLAD THE IMPALER.

SNOT JAMMER was turned out on Saturday, and his "walk about" began.  I guess a bull is never really content.  Ten year old SNOT JAMMER had a whole field to graze in...all by himself.  And where does he go?  to the bushes....

then...the dirt pile.  This is always amusing to watch!

After the dirt pile, the neighbor's hay field.  Holden was enlisted to help lure SNOT JAMMER back to his own property, with the promise of grain.  Snot Jammer received a new fenced pasture, two cows and two calves.  He seemed to slide in to family life easily, and with any luck, maybe we'll have a little red snot calf next spring.

On Sunday, first time student, Mark, attempts to ride Spook.  I caught the slap, for the DQ.  No petting Spook in the arena!!

JW & Cindi's bull, SNAP BACK CHARLIE, is a handful!  Chris tried hard but Charlie was way too much bull for him!

SPOOK kept us laughing, as he  rolled in the dirt.  He loves the red Virginia clay dirt!  He'll never be white again! LOL!

Anxious moments for my husband, as BUCKSNOT followed him down the chutes.  There was but only a precious few inches between BUCKSNOT's horn and Paul!  Thankfully, no bumps or bruises!
Can't say the same for Mark, pictured here coming off of BUCKSNOT!  Never a good position to be in coming off a bull.

And, an even worse place to land!  BUCKSNOT declared "playtime" whether Mark wanted to or not!
It was great to be with the bulls again.  Had so much fun with the gang bucking over a school weekend.  I do miss those bulls so much.  Those big, powerful, snotty, lovable guys have a way of stealing my heart each and every time I'm with them.  Looking forward to my next trip to Virginia already!!

So anyone looking to attend a bull riding school, check out Let R Buck in their new location, near Chase City, Virginia.   www.cnobull2tuff.com

Had to add this photo my bull partner and friend, Cindi, shared with me.  This is BUCKSNOT taking in to JW at school last weekend!  Can you see JW's foot?  Feisty, feisty BuckSnot! LOL!!
