Take Notice!

Take notice, 3 Days Notice is a bull who needs some attention!

Let’s get to know 3 Days Notice.  He is a five year old, ABBI registered (#10074973) bucking bull out of a beautiful Blueberry Wine daughter.  His sire is Eviction, grand-sire is the big, bad Rampage.  Eviction is a PBR bull owned by Jeff Robinson and Mike Tedesco.  Eviction tallied his PBR outs in 2008 and 2009.  Now he’s a herd sire, and by the looks of 3 Days Notice, a good one!

Southern Legend Cattle’s owner, David-Hollywood Flores, was anxious to get the news out about his up and coming 5 year old!  David tells me that 3 Days Notice is easy going and easy to work with.  David still doesn’t trust him enough to turn his back on him, but as far as working with the big boy, he’s a good bull.  His buddies on the ranch are 011 Chicken Off the Chain and 615 Red Shadow, and 3 Days Notice has a “girlfriend” 012 Buttercup (sister to Chicken Off the Chain and daughter of the great Chicken on a Chain). David did mention that if 3 Days Notice gets hot, all heck will break loose and he’ll let you know that he is the boss!  Evidently a characteristic he gets from his dam.

I asked David if he could relay any funny stories about 3 Days Notice and this is what he shared with me.  “Well seeing how I’ve only had the bull at my place for a few months, two stories come to mind. Before I bought the bull from Mike Tedesco, I drew him [at a bull riding event] a little over a year ago and went 7.8 [seconds] on him. So far, no one has even come close to that and after that night I never let Mike forget about how I went 7.8 on his new bull. Funny thing is now [that] I own him, [I] try to forget about it!   The second story is when I went to go pick him up. The night before, he was taken up north to Georgia for a 2 day event and then got penned again when he got back [to the ranch waiting] for me to come pick him up. 3 Days Notice did not take [kindly] to me picking him up [and] he went crazy!  [He] put me on to the rail and hooked the hell out of my leg!  I’m by myself thinking, ‘what the hell [have I] done [and] got myself in to?’   Well, at least no one can say that I don’t bleed for my bulls!”

Always up for some tasty treats!  Photo courtesy of Southern Legend Cattle Co.
3 Days Notice has been bucking for a few years now.  David plans to buck him again at two RBA events in August. He went to the RBA Finals this year (Renegade Bull Riders Association).  He bucked in the short go there, and was not ridden.  He’s a strong, short bull that gets right in the gate.  He comes out with one jump, then spins right to the left.  The word from some of the bull riders, like the SSBR Rookie of the Year, Jason Hunter, is that “you can’t keep your feet on him”.  And from Bronc Platt, a famous local boy who rides just like JB [Mauney], is that 3 Days Notice “roles out so weird.  I like him, what a great bull!”

All in all, 3 Days Notice is a very impressive bull, who has the potential to be a superstar.
